It’s 10:13pm on Monday night, I’m sitting at the airport waiting the arrival of my mother-in-law and her sister, when I should be asleep. But out of the kindness of my heart and a job that lets me get away with anything, I chose to let my husband stay home and rest while I picked up his mom and aunt. My husband has to work a 10 hour a day work week an I know how cranky he gets on little sleep, so I drove 2 hours to come pick them up. Their flight doesn’t get here until 10:30pm so just to make sure I got here in enough time I left the house at 7:00pm. Since I was doing Ashley a favor, he was nice enough to let me drive our new truck to get them tonight.
As I was driving alone all this way, that little hamster started on her wheel in that brain of mine! I started thinking about what all is going on in my life right now. I won’t go into detail, but it’s a lot. I don’t like driving at night because I get really tired, so I treated myself to a Pumpkin Spice Latte with an extra shot of espresso! Just to make sure that I would be awake enough for the drive here and back.
So here I am, wide awake, sitting at the airport waiting on these lovely ladies, preparing myself for a very chatting detail by detail synopsis of their trip to The Walton’s Reunion! I couldn’t even start to tell you who the Walton’s are other than a TV show that aired in the 60’s-70’s. But I’m about to find out. The good thing about all of this is that with my busy life I don’t get to see my MIL (mother-in-law) or her sister Aunt Judy very often. Judy lives in Kentucky and teaches college students, but since Ron, RIP, past away last Dec Judy has been closer to Elaine, which is a good thing. I think this trip was well needed for the both of them. It makes me think about my sisters. Emily, 26, has been in Afghanistan for nearly 3 years. I miss her more than she knows. Kassie, 23, is a mom of a 2yr old and lives in Tx. I don’t get to see her either. But thank goodness for technology because I wouldn’t know what I would do without it, I need my sisters.
You know something, I married into a wonderful family. I have the best brother-in-law, Justin! His wife, Cassie, is the best SIL ever! Not to mention the most beautiful niece, Annaliese, I could ever ask for! Oh, I almost forgot Elaine, MIL. Just kidding! I love her to pieces! They are all so kind hearted and a joy to be around.
Well it’s about that time for their flight to be landing, but just wanted to let everyone know what I was thinking about on the drive here! Can’t wait to get them and be back on the road again! That just means, I’m that much closer to my pillow! Yay! Thanks be to GOD! I love my family and my life! It couldn’t be any better.
Until next time, LOVE LIFE!
